Biography

“If you’re looking for someone who cares as much as you do about your people, business and how you’re developing both, we should talk.”  . . . Barb Glassman

After having navigated the corporate world, Barb applied her experience and tenacity in establishing several small businesses in Rochester, NY. Her primary focuses include strategic direction, continuous improvement, business and professional growth. Barb has spent the last decade centered on humanizing the workplace.

Barb began her career as the first female graduate of the Electrical Engineering Technology curriculum at the State University of New York at Alfred. Barb has evolved her technical career to include adult education, operations, sales and marketing. In parallel with her corporate career advancement, Barb worked behind the scenes at G-FORCE Collaborations, a marketing communications firm.

Desiring more influence and impact and the ability to more quickly pivot to meet changing needs and markets, Barb shifted into entrepreneur mode. In 2004, Barb became a Co-Founder and VP of Complemar Partners, an e-commerce and fulfillment company. In this role, Barb was instrumental in the purchase of assets from CPI Business Groups, a bankrupt company, to form this new entity. Complemar became profitable in less than a year.

In 2005, Barb took the helm as President and CEO of G-FORCE Collaborations, soon launching the talent development division. Gathering a team of accomplished coaches and consultants that energize professionals, teams and organizations, the G-FORCE offering grew to include professional and organizational consulting, training and executive coaching. Specific programs include: Creating a Conscious Organization, Leading Transformational Change, Practical Leadership and Emotional Intelligence AT WORK.

Learning in 2018 that Rochester ranked as 3rd poorest city in the United States and 2nd in overall poverty compared to cities its size, Barb pivoted her focus to local economic and community development. Her most recent engagement was a 2-year term as executive and business development coach for the Rochester Commissary, a downtown kitchen incubator that launched in October 2020. Just prior to completion of that contract, Barb assumed the role of interim president for the duration of their 8-month search, ensuring growth and stability for Rochester’s newest entrepreneur support organization (ESO).

Barb is an internationally certified (ICF) executive coach. As part of Barb’s ‘pay-it-forward’ commitment, she mentors professionals through a wide variety of transitions and has a special affinity for young people having difficulty navigating early adulthood and career. Barb has also served on multiple business and non-profit boards.

Clients have universally valued Barb’s sincere and determined approach and her passion for getting things done correctly – the first time. While attention to detail is high on her list, thinking broadly and creatively with a genuine collaborative spirit encourages all parties to enjoy the process along the way.
