HomeRemembering our founder, Nora Misiolek

Nora Misiolek
Founder and First President
ICF Upstate NY Charter Chapter
 - 2021

Nora Misiolek, the founder and first president of our Upstate New York chapter of ICF has passed away.  Those of us who knew and had the opportunity to work with Nora can attest to her tireless efforts and passion for promoting the coaching profession in upstate New York.  Her trail blazing efforts were pivotal in establishing our chapter. Through her leadership we grew from a dream to a ICF charter chapter.

Nora set a high standard for what we can be as a chapter, and in working with the other chapters in the North East region of ICF. She was full of ideas for what we could do as a chapter.  In the last conversation I had with her, she was talking about ways coaching could support and improve the medical systems and staff. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to work with and learn from her.

Her extensive knowledge and love of both the chapter and upstate New York were readily apparent. Many appreciated her openness and encouragement from conversations with Nora.  Thanks to her invitation, we have come to know and appreciate the chapter that she had envisioned.  Continuing our work to build a strong and vibrant chapter would be the best tribute we could offer Nora.

As a board we are committed to building on Nora’s vision of promoting high quality coaching and creating opportunities for coaches to connect and work together in upstate New York.

Sincerely,

Jim Stone, President
ICF Upstate NY Charter Chapter
