We acknowledge that this meeting is being held on the traditional lands of the Haudensaunee people. A symbol or image can reveal more than words. We are hard wired to respond to images. This is because our earliest from of language was cave painting. Our mind understands the abstract and is better able to open the space for something new to arrive. This presentation introduces a number of art based approaches that can be used on a personal and professional level. Attendees will experience a metacognitive drawing process. Walk away with strategies and practices that can be applied to a coaching practice and personal life.
Agenda:
Learning Objectives:
Kathleen studied both psychology and art in undergraduate. She later went on to pursue her MFA along with NYS education credential. As a graduate from Syracuse she was part of the SU faculty. She dedicated sharing with her students how to use art as a powerful catalyst for change. Later she went on to teach high school where she implemented a school wide student-centered resilience program that combined three disciplines (art & life coaching with yoga). The immersion process provided students with the opportunity to develop resilient thinking skills.
In 2007 Kathleen received her coaching credential from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (IPEC). After 18 years in education, she re-careered to start her innovation coaching business. Since then her professional life has been dedicated to igniting transformational change within individuals and organizational environments. She has partnered with people from all walks of life (executives, entrepreneurs, business owners and organizations). She teams with professionals who aspire to be a part of the evolutionary story of 'what's to come' for themselves and for their communities.
